Competition

1.	All competitions are open only to fully paid up members of the Club.
2.	The entrant is responsible for the clearance of any copyright material contained within the video or film for the purpose of club showings
3.	The entrant must give advance notice to the competitions secretary and complete an entry form not less than one week before the competition.
4.	The committee will appoint judges at their discretion.
5.	Entries may be of any length but those longer than the stipulated running time for the competition will be terminated after reaching the time limit
6.	Trophies will be held by the winner for one year from the awards night
7.	Winners will be responsible for the safekeeping of trophies which are in their possession.
8.	Any matters arisng which are not covered by specific rules will be referred to the competitions secretary for discussion by the committee whose ruling must be accepted as final.
9.	No film or video may be entered in more than one club competition in any one season. No film or video may be entered in a season subsequent to that in which it first competed unlees it is subject to considerable re-work
10.	Any competition can be cancelled by the committee if they consider that the number of entries is too low or any other reason deemed to be relevant.
11.	In the event of a competition being cancelled the previous wwinner will retain the trophy until the competition is re-held, subject to agreement with the committee.
12.	Whilst every care will be taken with the work of members. South Essex Film Makers cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage of any kind.
13.	Disqualification may result if in the opinion of the organisers it is considered that the contents of any entry are not appropriate for the competition theme.
14.	The use of archive material (footage that has not been shot by the film maker) can be used provided it forms an integral part of the story
15.	In the event that members are asked to judge a club competiton, he/she entering that competiton will not be eligible to judge.
