Most people come into film making from a hobby in photography. My interest started when in 1997 when I discovered the ability of personal computers to store, edit and manipulate video. I bought a miniDV camcorder and started by making a holiday film
As a technical rather than a creative person I consider my own film projects as an exercise in completing a jigsaw. In this jigsaw there are always many more pieces in the box than are need to make it up and the finished picture is never quite right.
Carrying on with this metaphor I am also guilty of fitting pieces that don’t fit into inexact gaps just because I like the look of the piece!!
In my ten years in the club I have learned a lot about techniques, programming but I’m no more creative, so I have really enjoyed being involved in small teams, planning films from scratch and contributing to the final production
